LASTEN MAASEUTU - CHILDREN COUNTRYSIDE - PROGRAM
People are living in these rural village and would like to know more
about place of their residence. Besides, when you look what happened
in other villages, you are interesting how the same things take
place in our own village. When you know who are you, when your
roots, where are you living, then you able to step out of it, to
meet other people, to accept other cultures, you are not afraid
others.
For this project we use computer as a communication tool. Besides,
we will have face-to-face meetings and camps.
History is a big part of culture. At school teachers are translating
culture to children, give possibility to see it, to feel it, to
participate in it.
By collecting different old photos from families (for example, baby
books, photo albums of parents and grant parents) and writing of
village stories. By collecting village history, we will make our
villages visible not only a part of bigger area, but as
independently existing living unit.
It is important do not lose the connection with the past, because we
are very often looking for global, but forget about our roots. You
need to pay attention to your own past and then you can understand
others, to be more tolerant.
Additionally we will have some basic of Finnish and Russian
languages for children.
