THE SCHOOL YARD - drawing

The second subject in this series is based on creating a map of the school yard. Children are invited to organize their view on this yard in black and white on paper. Ink is a direct material which cannot be removed and it important to find a way to be able to change the drawing when it necessary.
Every child has its own experiences on the school yard and in the drawings they can show what is more or less important for them.

After the first session the school yard has got the main objects. The way children are drawing is different and as they are young the start with the objects, so in general they will be dark. Through attending them on trying to start as light as possible there is still a possibility to keep the objects light(er) as the surrounding.
In the second workshop the children continue and are invited to add more details and to make more different nuances.

 

The final works will be published in the book THIS IS MY BACKYARD.
