ART STEPS FROM PAST TO FUTURE - LIVING IN THE PAST CLASS 5

The 5th class is working on their view how people in the past were living and working.
After painting a first layer with some landscape elements they could select the type of landscape they see and organize a living and or working area.
In the third lesson they could detail and bring more nuances in their vision on the subect.
It is important to inform the pupils with knowledge and images about the period they are working. It is very easy to stay by a romantic view on the past and to realize that work 150 years ago was something else as today needs a good discussion.
Imagine how it was or could be is important to get over the own border.
We were talking about how the forests were burned and what happened with children when their parents died. The emigration of whole groups during the second part of the nineteenth century is an illustration of the way how poor people tried to offer their children a better future.

It is interesting to see how the personal handwriting is creating the shapes and how changing color and shape makes that they find their vision on the subject.
